Woodchuck War

We're going to get that woodchuck!
This weekend our Groundhog/Woodchuck decided that the new weed blocker paper we laid down would make a great nest so he stole it right out from under the wood chips...ah!
Kris decided we needed a live trap (see determined look above), shooting it isn't an option in our neighborhood, poisoning it seems risky since he likes to go under our shed and deck, so trapping is our best idea...
We started night #1. with raw potatoes (we read they like these), but nothing... although every single noise we heard we believed was us getting him. Tonight is night #2. I fried some bacon (as we read this is also a favorite of "chucks" so we will hope for a successful trap. It's getting ridiculous to be honest, Saturday late afternoon a neighbor of ours chased it down the alley where he took cover under our shed. Kris said he could hear his nails hitting the pavement when he ran... eeeww... Anyway, more to come on this I am sure...
We did finish the landscaping and replaced what Chuck ripped out~ finally we are done! We got the carpet out of the basement, the gutters cleaned and some random cleaning projects done, a very rewarding weekend.
Saturday morning I also got a chance to go the Farmer's Market again- with Rachel. It was great! The weather was awesome, and we picked up a few really good deals, including a breakfast sandwich for Ra with brats and eggs.. ha ha!! Anyway, I made mom's recipe for Rhubarb Crisp with some rhubarb I got at the Market- It tastes excellent!
The last picture is our new cast iron teapot and teacup set. I am not sure if you all have heard about our new love of tea. Green and Oolong are our favorites. We've even put the coffee pot away... after reading about the benefits of green tea it's hard not to think we should continue drinking it... (now if only we were so healthy about everything else.. ha ha!)
Well we're hoping for another good week, tomorrow is our second week of swimming lessons and it's the final week of the sports class- parents against kids night.. (should be great!)
Hope everyone had a great weekend...
