Fun weekend at home

We had our fist backyard bonfire last weekend! Kris and I have been cutting branches and pulling out trees, so we had plenty of wood- it seemed like the perfect thing to do. We had a great time... felt like we were camping, but only steps away from the house! 

I also have to show these pictures because Ronan's new thing is to make crazy eyes when you try to take his picture.. haaa!!! 

Also this past weekend as I was checking on some (awesome) Iris that Virgil and Mary gave us to plant in the yard... I heard a noise by the air conditioner... when I walked around to see what it was~ I discovered a SNAKE! I was so afraid Ronan would be freaked out... so I jog-walked into the house to get Kris, it turns out that after a tragic snake bite after Church Camp in his past- Kris is not to fond of snakes either.. haa! He got the mini rake, gloves, and a bucket, we tried looking for it for a while, Rachel even was over trying to see if we could find it-- when all of the sudden- there it was, under a bush! By this point Ronan was in on the secret... and as it turns out, he appears to be the only one that was not afraid. After some yelling, jumping around in the yard, having the neighbors watch us and Ronan asking if he could keep it as a pet-- here it is:

 NASTY! It was even opening it's little mouth in this weird bitey, hissy motion.. super creepy- of course Ronan was all touching it, totally not afraid.. (WHAT?) anyway, Kris and Ronan took him across the street to the park-ish area and let him go into the woods.
