Parade, Swim Class and Trista...

Last Friday Anne and Mickey invited a few folks over for the annual Kaposia Day Parade in South St. Paul. Ronan could not be happier to go... not only to see his good friend Zoe (Anne's sister Kate's oldest daughter) but to also get as much candy as possible (more than Halloween I do believe.) Once the rain stopped- we had a great time! Anne and Mickey sure know how to have a good get together!
We also had a chance to see Trista this weekend, she flew in on Saturday night. We all met at the park where Ronan and Kris had the sports class on Sunday. Ronan ran Trista around the obstacle course of the playground more than a few times, he had a good time playing and swinging. We then went to Jan and Wayne's for hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill and cake and ice cream! It was a great summer day! Trista had gotten the mini 4-wheeler for Ronan last year, but it wasn't until just recently that Ronan discovered how cool it was to ride around the yard.. ha ha.. calling us on the "walkie talkie" to tell us he needed pit crew assistance... so before we grilled out he rode around the yard for a while.
We just finished our 3rd swim class tonight. Ronan did great, and was pretty excited to have Trista, Dad, and Grandma Jan come to see him swim. He got a chance to show off his new skills.
He's doing pretty well, so next week I am going to try the dunking our heads under the water plan. It seems as though some of the other kids are actually riding on their parents backs underwater, and Ronan and I stay on the surface, so I will give it a shot next week... we'll see how that goes... ha haa..
Well Kris almost clobbered the groundhog tonight- he had him pinned under the shed and poking his head out- but he didn't get a good shot at him.... so we are still on the hunt (so to speak) for the varmint. Our trap does not seem very effective, although- we just might not have very enticing bait. I am sure there is more to come on this...
Well I hope everyone had nice weekends, Kris and I are looking forward to 4th and a nice 3 day weekend- no firm plans as of yet... but hopefully something fun and out of the ordinary.
